Keeping Cozy

It rains this morning. Not a terribly cold rain but rain is rain and I am indoors and it's all cozy-like and that's fine.  It brings to mind a set of words or a person's "name" I once heard while watching the weather report on the news some years ago, probably at least 5 years ago.  And, like Mrs. Zita Hudnut, I've often thought it could be a secret code name or something special.  It's a fond memory, for it reflected the idiocy of a certain reporter and I like to laugh at news people. It's something I enjoy.  I really like watching news anchor bloopers. It's just the best. Guilty pleasure? Maybe. Maybe just pleasure? Probably.

Anyway, he was interviewing people out and about on a particularly nastily cold winter day and he asked how they were coping and one woman, in some kind of accent, said, "Just keeping cozy!"   And he replied, "Skippy Koozy? What's that?"  And she said, "Keeping...cozy."    And my heart leapt. Delight!  I was so happy to have witnessed that, and I know, deep in my heart, that someday, somehow, Skippy Koozy will be a key character somewhere throughout the course of my life.

I think it sounds vaguely profane. "You forgot to pick up the dry cleaning? Skippy koozy!"
