eloquence

The other day I went to the pharmacy to drop off a prescription. There was a line to the counter and I asked a lady in line, "Is this a pick-up line?" She said it was so I went about my business but not before pausing and smiling to no one at what i just said. She should have said, "i don't know, you tell me. If it is, it sucks..."

It reminds me of the time I went into the gas station to pay for my fuel and told the employee, "I got gas." TMI, ma'am.

i have a way with words.

That's hilarious, I didn't even realize the unintended meanings of your sentences until I re-read them. In our family, we always talk about how we need to gas the car (ie fill it up with gas). We didn't realize for a really long time that it sounds like we're doing something Nazi-ish to the poor car!
