oh chess

When i win at chess, it feels really really good. I'm not going to say that I always (or ever) win on purpose. I'm mostly just trying to put the king in check and then suddenly i realize it's checkmate, and it startles me. But i can't convey to you the intense surge of pure and utter contentment--nay, joy* that I feel and I pause a moment to bask in it. I'm sorry I'm putting up a post about chess but it's such a maddening game. One can not help but be a little obsessed with it. And having just won, I am still reveling in the moment of sweet, oh sweet victory and just wanted to share it with you, because I am a chess master. Accidentally-- but a master nonetheless.

*nay is totally overused but i don't care.

I don't think I've ever won a game of chess, so I can only imagine the joy it must elicit. Revel on!

Chess drives me nuts. Like there is any stategy involved at all!

what?? Michelle, clearly you don't understand it. let me know and i'd be happy to explain. ;)

i WILL revel on, thanks joel. :) Another thing i like to do is, when i've basically beaten him (it's especially fun if it's only the king left) and i have 5 pawns left, instead of just winning, i like to move all the pawns up and make them queens and then gang up on his king with 4 queens. ha ha. ohhh... i am so sad.

Jen...Didn't know you played chess. We've got to play sometime!
I'm sure you'll have a good chance to revel again :-)

hey! yeah.. i like to pretend i'm good except i'm really really not. I'm not sure i could play against a human because i think this game on my computer lets me cheat and i can't help it. (nice--"i think it lets me cheat..." suddenly i don't remember?) But no, we should totally play! i love it so much.
