Thoughts, by Jen

Why is it that only when i'm doing the dishes with my hands all wet and soapy is the time when I get the most burning, scorching itch on my face or head or someplace else that i don't want to touch with my wet soapy hands?

It takes a tired woman to be obviously scrambling to an open subway seat and an even more tired woman to beat her to it and not even care.

I always thought I'd be good in an emergency but when I had an uncontrollable need to cough whilst having a mouthful of toothpaste, spit, and a toothbrush (and was not yet done brushing), I had NO IDEA what to do.

One thing I really just do NOT like to wash out of a pan is fish scales.

When you're reading a book on the subway and see that your bookmark is a square of toilet paper, it occurs to you that it would seem fairly easy for others to deduce the last place where you read your book.

Jen, bathroom reading is in your blood--I love that the bathroom in the Scoresby home is packed with mazagines and Reader's Digest. :)

i love picturing your awkward, shifty eyes as you made that realization in that last one. they would be accompanied by an equally awkward one of your half smiles.
