Broken Heart

Late at night 

Just as I might have been drifting 

Drifting off to sleep

A piece of my heart fell to the floor 

Fell with a crash. 

It startled me 

I even felt a little scared at first 

until 

After I thought and thought, 

I realized what it was.

That calmed me down 

And I told myself 

I'd fix it in the morning.
