life lessons

Appearances can be deceiving.

You can learn a lot from this statement. It might teach one not to judge. Or it might teach to think before speaking. Or, it might teach one to not be too eager to step on things. For me, I'll look back at the moment (last night) when I was walking home in the dark and deliberately stepped on what I thought was a particularly protuberant blob of tar (which i like doing, for some reason) but it was far too squishy and oddly soft to be so. We kept walking and Sean pointed out that it was probably a dead mouse. Horrified I realized he was probably right, and I wanted to go back to check but he wouldn't let me. I'll never know, but i'll always wonder. It is a good lesson to learn.

Amen.

And, sick.

You should have made Sean go back to check, then tell you at some future time when you'd be less grossed out by it.

Did you check the bottom of your shoe when you got home?

But i wanted to see for myself! Ahh.. i knew i'd always be curious. I wonder if it's still there. I did not check the shoe. It was quite cold out so it was sort of a frozen softness. Mmm...

I love blobs of tar too!!! not dead mice though. brett saw a mouse last night in our front yard. he scared it away by throwing a snowball at it. it ran to our neighbor's yard...sucker!
