Delicious Memory

I just cut into a nice Red Delicious apple, all shiny and crisp, and had a flashback of something I had 100% forgotten. It took me back many years in my life to when I was quite a small schoolgirl and somehow, my family had acquired a bushel of apples, among which was the hugest red delicious apple you'll ever see in your life. It was like the size of a bowling ball. Somehow I got dibs on it (apparently I grew up in a little house on the prairie) and I decided to give it to my teacher, and everyone ooh'ed and ahh'ed all day. That was a good day.

p.s. red delicious are kind of gross. I would call it a Red So-So. Go for the tart 'n sweet variety, which i usually do. I don't know why I tried the RD again. Its prettiness hypnotized me, as pretty things do.

Red delicious are the best-looking and worst-tasting apples. They are the alimentary equivalent of that super hot girl/guy in high school: all appearance, with nothing going on upstairs.

So true. What should be its name? i like Red So-Sos. Or Red Acceptables. Red Mediocres?

Red Disappointments

Oh my. I couldn't agree more. Red Delicious? No. They skin is one billion times too thick, and the flesh is warm (<---maybe I've just had bad circumstances...) and the consistency is like unto saw dust. Never should one bite into an apple only to have it lose all structural integrity and just collapse in your mouth. Sick.

Red Disappointments is RIGHT.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I much prefer Galas or Fujis. Or, what did I just have...? Honey crisp? Something like that. It was delicious.

RED DISAPPOINTMENTS! Perfect. I decree that Red Delicious apples will, from now and hence forth, be referred to as Red Disappointments.

So true about the skin & consistency. Like unto sawdust is right. Funny stuff.
