I'LL Chew on the Pineapple Bone

I realize it must take skill to cut a pineapple. I mean, really, how DO you do that? But when i learned that apparently anyone who knows how to do it would tell you that the core is inedible and is to be discarded, I say, pish posh! The pineapple bone, as i call it, is totally good! Sure it's a little tough and hard to bite into but it's still as sweet as the rest of it. Why must we so wastefully throw it away just because it takes a little bit more effort to eat? Is it because you don't want to look like you're tearing into it, gripping it in your jaws and ferociously shaking it back and forth and growling like a wild dog? Is that it? Lame excuse, if you ask me. I'll gnaw on the pineapple bone. Gimme it.

Joe and I have long been on the hunt for a good pineapple knife -- one that can slice a pineapple in the air like butter. I know you know exactly what I am talking about. And I don't believe the guy on the infomercials either.

As far as the bone goes, I enjoy gnawing on the bone until all the juice is gone. Then I'll go ahead and throw the gummed-up bone away. Not something I'd do in public...
