It's Alive!

Don't you hate when you have this perfect moment, where the cosmos kiss upon your forehead and you see something and you say something and it's just... perfect.  And of course you had to be there, and of course it will NEVER happen again... and you recognize it as this perfect moment, but it falls short of what it could be because it's missing one important variable?  I so hate that!

For example, the other day was one of those potential moments. I was walking down the street with a friend when we passed this beast in the window of a laundromat.  We were startled and I yelled something like,
"Ahhhh!!!  It's alive! It's coming to eat uuus!"

And then a synapse exploded in my brain. I stopped dead in my tracks, a hushed calm come over me. I turned to my friend with a wild look in my eyes, clutched her arm a little too tightly, shouted out a little too excitedly, hardly able to get out the words,

"It's The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks!!!"

Only to find out she hadn't read the book, and the moment turned into smoke and evaporated as quickly as it had come. She was sorry she couldn't participate in what was clearly meant to have been a serious Moment, but I just had to say something here, to show you, to try to describe the indescribable in a futile attempt to somehow have that moment, or some small portion of it, with someone, anyone, across the interwebs.  Have I? Is it happening?? Someone please say yes.

p.s. here it is from a step back

A laundromat!! a giant scary plant! at a laundromat!!  *pant pant pant*
Nevermind.

I had been looking for that book recently, to read to Sam.

I can see it. I would think twice before sending my chocolate-flavored socks there.
