Spoonerism of the week

I don't know about you, but I sure love me a good spoonerism. Some people utter them with nary a laugh nearby. No pause, no mention of it. They just keep on rolling. And me, I always thought I had an excellent sense of humor, but they just make me laugh. Why? I can't really explain it.

But, for example, when your very polite and lovely mother who would never allow anything crass or vulgar escape her lips says "beets and pisses" instead of "bits and pieces," you might choke on your food & die then and there in the restaurant.

I just realized i've already talked about spoonerisms. And that was a good one. Well, here we go.

A friend recently referred to the celebrity Jack Human, also known as Hugh Jackman, and I really had leftover laughs. Uncontainably so. I think that should be the new generic name for a person. You know, instead of John Doe. Jack Human. love it.

And, should the need arise, you can always go by Men Jorello. It sounds like some distant descendent of Superman.

I am the same as you. Sometimes I wonder if something is wrong with me because I'll laugh for 5 minutes straight about a mix up that someone does while everyone else has long forgotten it. Why doesn't EVERYONE think they are the funniest thing ever?

Sorry. I forget that I'm not a regular commenter on here. I'm still a creepy, you-have-no-idea-who-I-am reader.

whatever! your comments are among my favorites. and now that i know you love spoonerisms as much as i do, it's like we're family. And since your sister is a swalberg, it's like we were anyway. :)

We have friends, Nick and Lynnie, who if you spooner-up their names, become Lick and Ninny. Ouch! We've messed up (and laughed about) that more than once...
