A Tree Fell in Brooklyn

Today as i was walking home I passed the saddest sight. All alone, lying on the sidewalk was a fallen tree that had somehow snapped in half. It was a sapling. Not super young to require support, but I guess not old enough to withstand whatever broke its neck. It wasn't a clean cut and looked rather brutal. I frowned when I saw it and my heart soaked in solemnity the rest of the way home. It was a beautiful tree. Must have been about 15 feet high and all its leaves were bright yellow. I guess it was too young to realize. It's a season, little tree, that comes every year. Just let your leaves fall. YOU don't fall. :(

I guess I love the trees. May this post serve as a eulogy, of sorts.

That reminds me of the limping deer I saw on the way to work this morning :(
