jen's log: crap.

Tonight after a delightful episode of Beauty and the Geek, i was sitting here at the computer and Sean was watching the end of it. At the end, they interview the two losers going home and it's a touching moment with some background piano/strings music to really enhance the mood. Anyway, the "geek" was talking about his experience on the show and how much he'd learned and was going to take with him. He is an UBER Star Trek geek and that's all he ever talks about. Well, he said something like this: "I think now, i'll take what i've learned and we're going to just put it at warp 8 and basically, engage."

Me from the computer: "Oh my GOSH... he is the biggest dork EVARRRR!"

And Sean from the other room: "yeah...just 'cause you get his jokes..."

Touché, Sean. Too-shay.

what does touche mean?

Ah. I'm glad you asked.

Touche is french for "touched." It is used in fencing and is called out by the fencer who is hit.

It is also used to point out a successful criticism or an effective point in argument. So it's like "Ahh, touche. you got me."

Um, I'm with Sean on this one. :) Forget the fact that I get the jokes too...

Well at least your cultured knowledge of the french language off-sets your treckyness a bit.

knowing the terms and using them in everyday conversation is are two totally different things. Especially using them on NATIONAL TV! Sometimes I wonder about these reality shows, if this is how they behave with a camera in their face, what're they like in real life. Show some self control people!
