I think they must have used the ol' point-blindly-at-a-random-page-in-the-dictionary tactic for naming their child. Dear Mom and Dad Raynor, thank you for giving your daughters names whose popularity peaked in the 1960s!Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18153749951474526650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12201154.post-75818341360032879682009-07-23T07:48:25.237-06:002009-07-23T07:48:25.237-06:00I had a patient the other day whose name was Sequ...I had a patient the other day whose name was Sequence. What do you have to look like to get that name? Maybe you just have to be the 3rd child or something.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06676842548878777844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12201154.post-36126199691184966002009-07-23T05:51:49.650-06:002009-07-23T05:51:49.650-06:00There is TOTALLY a Tyler in my ward who I always w...There is TOTALLY a Tyler in my ward who I always want to call Ryan, also! That is completely weird. I just assumed it had to do with the second letter being a "Y" for both names, but now I'm beginning to think there's more to it. (Enter "Twilight Zone" theme music.)

As far as what Joel says, I agree. It would be nice if parents had a better idea what their kids were going to look like before we stuck them with a name. My Mom's friend has always maintained that it's really mean to give girls boy names-- it works out fine if the girl is cute, but if she's really ugly AND stuck with a boy's name, then she has no chance whatsoever. But what parent thinks their child won't be absolutely adorable some day once the purpleness wears off (and smart, precocious, yadda yadda yadda)?

But I digress. In my head, names have a lot more to do with personality than with looks. Certain names just sound like nice people or jerky people or whatever.Alannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04895073619356841356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12201154.post-68503385500370736012009-07-22T21:27:31.675-06:002009-07-22T21:27:31.675-06:00It's too bad parents have to name children whe...It's too bad parents have to name children when they're purple, alien-looking things, or we might each have more fitting names.Joelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01017776667875077490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12201154.post-87137460030997169002009-07-22T19:52:22.762-06:002009-07-22T19:52:22.762-06:00Ryan and Kevin are often interchangeable in my min...Ryan and Kevin are often interchangeable in my mind but I'm not sure why.Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02003863531775817599noreply@blogger.com
